THE hugely successful MK handmade and Vintage extravaganza returns to Middleton Hall this weekend, offering thousands of one-off bargains, writes Sammy Jones.
Clothes, accessories, furniture, homewares, collectables and treats all find a home at this fabulous free event at thecentre:mk
“As always, the stalls are strictly handmade and vintage only, which sets us apart from most fairs,” organiser Jacqui Lewis said.
“Standards are very high and each stall is carefully picked for originality, quality and unusually affordable prices.”
Whether you want retro, quirky, homely or bizarre, you are bound to find something that takes your fancy.
And if it’s antiques, vintage and collectables that you seek, you must check out Pushmi-Pullyu who will be among the stalls seeking your business this weekend.
Why do so many people spend their spare time hunting out the old and unusual items at fairs and in old stores?
“It’s to do with nostalgia and addiction,” explains Peter Wibaut from the Pushmi.
“You just get attracted to old stuff, there is a quality about it. There is this strong pull to the past and to see how our ancestors lived.”
And there will be plenty of goodies to rummage around when they set up for the show.
“We’ll have everything from the Victorian to the 1950s,” he promises.
Pop along between 9am and 7pm on Saturday, or 10.30am to 5pm on Sunday.
> If you can’t make the event this weekend, or seek bulky furniture items, give Pushmi-Pullyu a call on 01234 711852.
Based in Emberton, they also welcome personal visitors to their abode.
