Wimbledon fever hits MK thanks to cows

MK College fashion students brought the spirit of iconic tennis tournament Wimbledon to the city by dressing the concrete cows in tennis gear, complete with racquets and sweatbands.

They will stay dressed up throughout the tournament to highlight the range of affordable tennis activities in the city. During Wimbledon LTA Mini Tennis, Cardio Tennis, Short Tennis and Tennis Express at clubs including Woughton, Shenley, Oakgrove and Stantonbury leisure centres.

Nina Bridge, tennis development officer for MK, said: “Dressing the cows up was enormous fun and it’s nice to be able to give shoppers a reminder of tennis in the town centre.

“We want to raise awareness not just of tennis in general but also of the amount of activities available across the town and how it couldn’t be easier to pick up a racket and get playing in Milton Keynes.”
