The recent bad weather and flooding has taken its toll on many football pitches with hundreds of games cancelled due to the poor conditions.
But a waterlogged pitch could become a thing of the past thanks to a national competition giving you the chance to win a £3,000 pitch makeover.
But you’ve got to be quick as the deadline for the competition inviting entries from clubs with the worst football pitch in the country, is fast looming.
The competition, Pitch to Win, was launched at the start of the year, with organisers seeking out the worst amateur football pitches in the country.
The winning club will receive a £3,000 pitch makeover from the outdoor power equipment specialists, Briggs and Stratton, and two runners-up will receive £500 for their club kitty.
All winning teams will win a season’s sponsorship and a new kit.
The competition was launched by Briggs & Stratton to highlight the importance of local football teams in communities and to help them improve their facilities.
Entering Pitch to Win could not be easier.
Simply visit www.pitchtowin.org.uk, briefly describe your team’s pitch and why it deserves to win, and send in some photos, or even a video, to show how much you need the makeover.
The deadline for entries is March 28.
