Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an assault in Netherfield.

The incident happened in Farthing Grove, Netherfield between 5.30pm and 6.20pm on Saturday.

The victim, a 31-year-old woman, was walking back from the shops in Farthing Grove when some women began to shout at her.

She became concerned and decided to go to her friend’s house. As her friend opened the door three women began to attack her, punching her in the face and knocking her to the ground.

The offenders then ran off. The victim suffered a cut to her head.

Police have arrested a 40-year-old woman in connection with this incident and she has been released on bail until 10 April.

PC Gavin Ramdyal, who is investigating the incident, said: “Although we have made an arrest we still need witnesses to come forward.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in this area early on Saturday evening who may have information that could help us progress our investigation.”

Anyone with any information should contact PC Ramdyal via the force enquiry centre on 101.
