Frosts Garden Centre at Woburn Sands collected its latgest amount of tools yet at its charity Tool Swap during March.
Generous members of the public donated over 200 tools throughout the month. All of the tools collected have been given to local charity, MK Snap, for use on its horticulture programme. MK Snap provides education, work and life skills training for individuals with physical and learning difficulties, aged 16 and over.
Those donating old or unused tools received a 20 per cent off voucher for any new tools purchased at Frosts Garden Centre.
Maureen McColl, chief executive of MK SNAP, said: “The Frosts Tool Swap is a brilliant idea and we’re extremely grateful to be the recipients of such generosity from the people of Milton Keynes.
“MK Snap is currently branching out and growing the horticulture programme so our learners are particularly excited to receive these tools.
“We are very grateful to Frosts for selecting us for this scheme. “
James Frost, managing director at Frosts, added: “We’re thrilled with the success this year’s Tool Swap, so often people have tools that they simply don’t use any more and this provides them with an outlet to pass them on. MK Snap is a very worthy cause and we’re extremely pleased to be able to help these young people further their horticultural learning.”
