Loss of power forced Wolverton Swimming and Fitness Centre to partially close over the weekend.

Customers were alerted about the closure by a sign that said both the pool and gym were shut temporarily due to “technical issues” - but it did not state when the pool would be fully reopened.

The centre is managed by Wolverton Leisure Trust, but supported by Milton Keynes Council.

The new facility opened in April this year featuring a 25m community pool, a learner pool, sauna and steam room, as well as gym and studio.

A spokesman for the leisure centre said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the pool and gym closure at Wolverton Leisure Centre at the weekend.

“The closure was necessary due to a loss of power caused by issues with the building management system.

“We were able to keep the closure to minimum and thank customers for their patience during the closure.”
