A WOMAN has been found dead after a house fire in Eaglestone.
An investigation has been launched after a woman died in a fire at her home in Milton Keynes on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters from Broughton, Great Holm and Bletchley were called to a fire in a bungalow in Ashby, Eaglestone, at 12.22pm.
Area Manager Mick Osborne said: “Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to fight the fire and carry out a search of the premises using a thermal imaging camera.
“They discovered a female occupant and rescued her, but unfortunately she had suffered fatal injuries.”
The fire is believed to have started in the bedroom, and the woman was found in the sitting room.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Firefighters will be returning to the estate this week to raise awareness of fire safety in the home and provide advice and reassurance.
