A WOMAN was assaulted after refusing to hand over her mobile phone to her attacker.

At around 8.30pm last Sunday, the 18-year-old woman was sitting on a bench beside the footpath next to the river in the Ouse Valley Park on the New Bradwell side when she was approached by a man.

The offender tried to grab her phone but the victim stood up, held the phone against her chest and turned her back on the offender. She was then punched and knocked to the ground.

The offender ran off, without her mobile phone, leaving her on the ground.

The victim did not require hospital treatment.

The offender was white, 6ft, mid to late forties with a bald head. He was wearing a waist length padded jacket which was either dark blue or black.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence, recognises the description of the offender, or who saw the offender in the area around the time of the incident.

Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Wendy Cissell, of Milton Keynes CID, via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
