Woman’s bag stolen in unprovoked attack

A 46-year-old woman had her bag stolen in an attack in Newport Pagnell yesterday evening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened at 6.10pm as the woman got off the bus from Central Milton Keynes in Wolverton Road, as she reached the grass area near to the Dove Pub, she was pushed from behind.

As she fell her bag was ripped from her shoulder, she fell to her knees and as she did she looked up and saw two figures in hoodies running off towards Browning Close.

The offenders are believed to be two men of medium build and wearing hooded tops.

DC Samantha Reynolds from Milton Keynes police station said: “Now that the nights are drawing in, please remember personal safety, when walking alone be aware of your surroundings and stick to main routes and well lit public footpaths.“
