CHRISTMAS has been saved at The Cock in North Crawley – thanks to Max the Dog.
The hero pooch raised owners Jackie and Gary Magee from their beds at 3am on Tuesday morning.
And they were shocked to find staffie Max standing in the middle of the bathroom, raising the alarm as water flooded out of the pipes.
Jackie said: “It isn’t like him to bark. When we got in the bathroom there was water shooting out of the pipes.
“Max saved Christmas for us.”
Jackie, who only took charge of the pub two months ago, said a full scale flood could have wrecked the pub and meant they would have had to cancel their Christmas bookings.
But thanks to Max it was all fixed after a quick call to an emergency plumber, and a bit of moping up.
“He’s a lovely dog,” added Jackie.
“We’ve been spoiling him since. He’s had steak and some ham and chicken.”
