IT’S That Time of the Month again – when funny folks descend on Newport Pagnell to get their bits tickled.
Doing the deed this Sunday evening will be Tony Law and his gut-load of absurd humour...because there is more to this bloke than that tasty beard.
The Canadian chap bagged first prize at the Glastonbury New Act competition, and he has heaps more comic moments tucked under his whoopie cushion; Tony is a certified favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a familiar sight at many of the UKs leading comedy haunts.
If the face looks familiar, but you still can’t place where from, maybe you’ve caught him ‘at work’ on the small screen – Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Russell Kane’s Good News television show are two programmes that have been touched by the sharp tongue of Law.
It’s not only the general public who rate him, though. His peers do too.
What do you make of him, Sean Lock?
“Imagine if Harry Potter was a Canadian non-wizard who wrote very funny jokes with his big hands, that’s Tony Law,” he says.
The intimate show is once again being held in the confines of the rear room at The Cannon pub, and tickets are a fiver in advance, £6 on the door, and likely to shift swiftly.
