National gym operator Xercise4Less has teamed up with the Movember Foundation to raise funds and awareness of the current crisis in men’s health in Milton Keynes.
The Movember Foundation is the only global charity solely focused on men’s health. The foundation raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.
As part of the partnership, Xercise4Less will be donating £1 for each new member that joins MK - or any of their 43 gyms - throughout the month of November.
Members are being encouraged to “Move for Movember” and can take part in dedicated classes every weekend wearing their Mo, with the chance to bring along a friend if a donation is made.
What is the Move Challenge? It’s whatever members make it, the company says. Run a race. Learn to rock climb. Work out in costume. Try something new, beat your own personal best, and ultimately raise funds for men’s health.
There will also be a prize for the best moustache grown during the month of November. Entrants can use the hashtag #MrMovemberX4L to be in with a chance of winning.
On Monday 21st November there will be a three-hour MoRun in the gym, with a Movember Cup being awarded for the most miles run in the three hours. The participants of the club who run the most miles will go in to a prize draw to win a prize fitness bundle donated from Movember .
On Saturday 26th November Xercise4Less’ popular Xercise4Kids will be turned into a MoKids class, where parents with children aged between three and five will be provided with a stick on Mo for their little ones to join in the fun.
Nina Hadley, general manager at Xercise4Less Milton Keynes, said: “We’re challenging everyone to get up and do something for men’s health this Movember.
“Looking forward to seeing lots of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the club! It’s a hugely worthwhile cause, so let’s really get behind it,” she said.
