IF you are feeling the pinch after splashing too much money over the Christmas and new year period, spare a thought for the many charities in our locality who are facing a more difficult time than normal in these times of woe.
Hula animal rescue opens its doors on Sunday for its inaugural fundraising event of 2012 – the year that Hula also celebrates its 40th year.
The open day and new year sale will give you a chance to pick up a little bargain at the bazaar and book store sale, and if you aren’t involved in the annual trauma of the JD (that’s January Diet) then go ahead, have a nibble over one of the tasty refreshment stalls.
The unfortunate stars of these events are the animals awaiting adoption, of course, and you will be able to meet the rescued pets and resident farm animals.
As is standard when Hula holds these open days, there is plenty of fun and games on offer for the kids too.
Hula will welcome you between 1 and 3pm on Sunday.
Admission is just £2, accompanied kids go free and every penny raised goes towards the care of those needy creatures.
Visit Hula at Glebe Farm on the Salford Road, Aspley Guise.
Sparing a little can mean such a lot…
