A YOUTH cafe on Great Brickhill is celebrating its increased membership as it continues to go from strength to strength.

Set up several years ago, Great Brickhill’s Youth Cafe is the result of hard work by former Parish Councillors Clare Amies and Mike Turner.

The Cafe runs on Friday evening in High Ash School during term time and is aimed at teenagers.

Membership has doubled in the last two years, reaching 80 members, with a regular attendance of around 40 youngsters at each session.

Marcus Loxley, of Aylesbury Youth for Christ, supervises the running of the café and a ‘Junior Volunteer Scheme’ which allows the young people to take some responsibility for the running of their cafe.

Anybody who would like to help run the Youth Cafe should contact a Parish Councillor for details.
