Councillors have warned there will be “zero tolerance” to any trouble at the Foo Fighters concert this weekend.

Up to 130,000 fans will flock to the National Bowl to see the top flight band, backed by legendary rocker Iggy Pop.

But residents in nearby Furzton are worried the event will prove a king-size headache.

Ward councillor Nigel Long said: “In July the last major concert at the Bowl caused huge problems including poor parking, drug taking, drunkenness, rubbish everywhere and a general disregard for local people.

He has asked Milton Keynes Council to join forces with police use a zero tolerance approach to stop any trouble.

Citizen leisure editor Sammy Jones said: “The revenue generated from shows at the National Bowl has huge benefit for the local economy, and the venue helps showcase Milton Keynes as a fast growing, exciting town.

“Organisers work hard to ensure a minimum of disruption, and we are only talking about two nights.”

“If we want to be considered for the title of European Capital of Culture, this is exactly the sort of event we should be embracing.”
