Bedford return home with easy victory
MK City Pathfinders hosted the Bedford Blue Raiders at Manor Fields on Sunday and after a hard fought game went down 43-0.

Bedford were gifted a two point safety with a high snap on a punt by the hosts in their own endzone in the opening stages of the first quarter and after that advantage they never looked back.

The visitors continued to total up the score with some excellent passing moves, as USA veteran running back Mike Wilson scored with ease.

Pathfinders gave up another safety near the end of the second quarter as the sides went into the break with Raiders up 31-0.

City's defence held during the third quarter, but Mark Merry's good interception of Bedford's pass went without a reward and there was no more scoring in the third.

City's Troy Townes intercepted a ball in the fourth quarter to set up his side to score, but Bedford held the Pathfinders out at the 10 yard line for no score.

In the closing seconds of the game Wilson ran in Raiders' last touchdown to take the score out to 43-0.

The Pathfinders are away to East Kent Mavericks on June 14, followed by their Homecoming Game at Manor Fields on June 21 when they host the Lincolnshire Bombers.

Head coach Charlie Edwards would like to invite all interested to attend the homecoming game to meet the players and register their interest in playing for the club.

The team the Pathfinders played are called The BEDFORDSHIRE Blue Raiders, not 'Bedford'. Please get it right.
