The Milton Keynes Victors Boxing Club's latest show kicked off with the presentation of a £25,000 cheque to the club by Jim Marshall of Marshall Amplification.
Proceeds will go towards the planned building of a purpose-built boxing club.
The boxing began in a sensational style with the much anticipated debut of Connor Wright, the 11-year-old son of Victors' head coach Tony and grandson of the club's namesake Vic Wright.
The ceiling was raised as Connor entered the hall to the sounds of the Frankie Valli song 'Walk Like A Man' and the 300-strong crowd who had come to lend their support to the local youngster were not left disappointed.
From the first bell southpaw Wright displayed a skill level beyond his tender years as he totally dominated their bout against Suleman of Luton Shamrocks, showing no first fight nerves.
But despite plenty of well fought contests the Victors failed to follow up with any more wins.
However, another notable bout involved Josh Burgess, who was making a bid for a Home Counties Junior ABA title against Russian-born Edmund Durahu from Reading.
Burgess started well, rolling under the long punches of Durahu, but the second round told a very different story with Durahu stepping up a gear to prove himself well worthy of the credentials he entered the competition with. With Burgess being on the receiving end of two standing counts the referee stepped in and halted the contest.
Other to box on the night were Sean Wood, Tom Murray, Jordan Freshwater, Billy Freshwater, Adam Boniface, Stephen Shields and Graham Shields.
Special guest John Ashton presented Connor Wright with boxer of the night award and Billy Freshwater with best bout award.
