IKF Amateur World Kickboxing/Thai Boxing
Chantelle Cameron from the SSJ Studio in Fenny Stratford travelled to Florida with her coach Claire Reilly to take part in the prestigious IKF Amateur World Kickboxing/Thai Boxing Tournament.

The Orlando event was held over two days and saw a total of 222 competitors from all over the world take part.

Chantelle, who was entered into the lightweight division, had two prelim bouts before taking part in the final.

Her first opponent was Allison Stokes from Tampa in Florida and Chantelle dominated all three rounds, showing great technique with a good combination of knees and kicks and went on to win by a unanimous decision.

Next up on day two was current champion Jamie Bradley from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Last year's winner looked very confident going into the fight and was a very strong and aggressive opponent, but Chantelle came back throwing great boxing combinations and knees to keep her at bay.

And in the end Chantelle's skill and power won over the aggression and she won with another unanimous decision.

The final bout later that day was against Adrienne Simmons from Atlanta, Georgia.

Adrienne, the much taller opponent, had been in great form coming into the fight but in the opening seconds of the first round was taken down for an eight count as Chantelle launched an excellent combination of kicks.

It was proving a tough fight but Chantelle kept her opponent away with excellent push kicks throughout the last rounds and held on to claim another win by unanimous decision.

Chantelle is now the IKF World Amateur Thai Boxing Champion and at only 17 the club have great hopes for her in the future.
