Milton Keynes police boss suspended?

Milton Keynes police chief Gez Chiariello has been suspended from his duties pending an investigation into misconduct, it is understood.

The move, which still has to be officially confirmed by Thames Valley Police press office, follows a series of allegations into Superintendent Chiariello’s behaviour and actions as MK area commander.

He now faces a misconduct hearing. It is believed there could also be a separate hearing for gross misconduct.

Supt Chiariello’s official police Twitter account was suddenly closed this week.

The Citizen revealed exclusively late last year that he was under investigation by his own force’s professional standards department after allegations had been made against him.

It is believed some allegations concerned his behaviour towards females.

Police have previously said there is no criminal investigation against Supt Chiariello.
