New expressway road to link Milton Keynes to Oxford and Cambridge wins £27m funding from government

The government has agreed to pay £27m to build an expressway linking Milton Keynes with Oxford and Cambridge.

An announcement will be made by the Chancellor in the Autumn statement, the Treasury has announced.

The road link was recommended by the National Infrastructure Commission, as revealed last week by the Citizen.

The commission’s report said the MK, Oxford, Cambridge corridor has huge potential to be the UK’s Silicon Valley - but only with the right housing and transport links.
