WITH just one league match left to come this season Bletchley Rugby Club picked up a vital 16-5 victory over Windsor which now ensures their survival for another season.
The result leaves Bletchley sitting a little more comfortably in seventh place out of twelve in the table after the relegation zone had started to rear its ugly head in recent weeks.

With Windsor themselves already consigned to relegation, the thr
ee sides that separated Bletchley from the bottom three would have been hoping for an away win, but Bletchley were having none of it.

From the first whistle Bletchley stormed out of their half and hit their opponents hard.

And it didn't take long for the home side to get off the mark as after just two minutes Jack Couzens raced over for the opening try of the afternoon, although Phil Harman missed the conversion.

Bletchley were winning virtually all of their own line outs, with locks Adam Dempsey and Nick Coussell looking at their devastating best.

But with about a minute to go before the break Harman missed a penalty kick and allowed the visitors to go into half time just the five points behind.

After the interval Windsor took the game to Bletchley, who seemed to have surprisingly relaxed, and quickly got their reward with an unconverted try to bring the scores level.

But Bletchley immediately hit back through two Harman penalties in the space of five minutes.

Again the home side took their foot of the gas but this time their defending was spot on as excellent tackles from Luci Nanci and Chris
Coussell prevented Windsor from taking any kind of advantage.

Then with just a few minutes left on the clock captain Kevin Turnbull won the ball and raced over the line for an unconverted try which made the final score 16-5.

This Saturday Bletchley travel to Cheltenham for their final league match of the season knowing that their league status is now secure.
