Bletchley U17s, sponsored by both Ring Road Garage Buckingham and Waste Recycling Group Bletchley, played Oxford on Sunday in the south west regional semi-final of the National Bowl.

Bletchley had beaten Oxford in a league game earlier in the season and they again triumphed, this time by the narrow margin of 10-9.

They nowrplay North Dorset in the regional final on Sunday April 5.

George Harman put them ahead with a penalty but they lost Tom Grant to a yellow card for coming in at the side of a ruck.

Canute Gilzine then suffered a calf injury and Bletchley were down to 13 players before replacement Tom Perring came on.

And just before half-time more Bletchley indiscipline resulted in Oxford levelling the game with a penalty.

Oxford kicked a penalty early in the seocnd half to lead 6-3 but Bletchley stormed foeard and although they crossed the line three times they were denied a try, Dale Keane-Matthews grounding the ball on one occasion but an Oxford defender slipping his hand under the ball before theb referee could get round to see.

Oxford later converted another penalty to lead 9-3 and Bletchley then lost the impressive George Harman with injury.

But all was not lost, and after an Oxford player was yellow carded, the relentless pressure told and Bletchley were awarded a penalty try, converted by Daniel Read to make it 10-9.

There was still drama to come with Oxford awarded a late penalty, the Oxford kicker though off target.

>> On a bright spring morning Bletchley U10s made the short trip to Leighton Buzzard. They played three matches winning them 4-0, 4-1 and 5-0. Their try scorers were Matthew (3), Stewart (2), Peter (2), Chris (2), Harvey, Alex, Billy, James and Kieran.

>> Bletchley U9s faced Leighton Buzzard for three matches, winning 15-0 and 20-0 and then drawing 5-5, their scores from Dale Thatcher, Fraser Jackson, James Easton, Harry Needham and Jonny Byatt.

>> Bletchley U8s, sponsored by Aetna UK Ltd, were in action at Leighton Buzzard. Bletchley A were successful in both of their matches, winning 8-5 and 12-7. Bletchley B played well despite losing their matches 11-5 and 4-3.

The try scorers were Shea Minty (7), George Hendry (5), Thomas Sharp (4), Robert McIntosh (3), Daniel Russell (3), Daniel Wells (2), Oliver James-Bowen, Cerys Minty, Joshua Luce and Harrison Underwood.

>> Olney U9s entertained Ampthill, the Warriors winning 4-0 with tries from Robert Harrison (2), Cobie Chapman and Tom Smith and they then won 2-0 with the tries from Lochie Sear (2).

Olney A were 1-0 winners over Ampthill with the try from Sam Smith, Olney Bulls then lost out 2-1 with the try from Joel McNally and they then lost the second match 3-0.

Olney B faced Ampthill B and drew 3-3 with tries from Francis Allen (2) and Robert Harrison, the man of the match award going to Lochie Sear.

>> Olney U10s mixed team faced Ampthill and won 5-4, tries from Adam Grandy (2), Eliot Simpson (2) and Basi Combes.

They then drew 4-4 with Ampthill, tries from Jack Dalton Harvey Fielden, Harry Warn and Adam Grandy.

>> Olney U15s travelled to Amersham and Chiltern for their final Bucks County League Division One match of the season and came away with a 23-17 win from a feisty, hard fought match.

The try scorers were Jake Chalmers, William Greenall and Jordan Letts with Letts adding a conversion and two penalties.

Bletchley U11s finished as runners-up at the Market Harborough festival.

Playing their most consistent rugby of the season they won their pool by beating Barkers Butt 20-10, Nottingham B 5-0 and Rugby Lions 30-0.

But they went on to lose to a very strong Oakham side 0-15 in the final.

Tries were scored by Elliott Hales(3),Charlie Atwell (2),Jake Hodges, Chris Byatt, Cameron Watkins (3) and Charlie Brinicombe.

>> Bletchley U9s attended the Market Harborough festival at the weekend.

They recorded wins against Barker Butts, Rugby and Market Harborough before falling by one try to Melton Mowbray. Bletchley's player of the festival was Fraser Jackson.

>> Bletchley U8s, sponsored by Aetna UK Ltd, were also in action at Market Harborough. They topped their pool, wins coming against Barker Butts 6-3, Melton Mowbray 8-4, Market Harborough A 5-3 and Rugby Lions 7-1. Bletchley then lost out 6-5 to Oakham.

Their try scorers were George Hendry (8), Shea Minty (8), Robert McIntosh (6), Daniel Wells (4), Bronwyn Tagg (4) and Daniel Russell.

>> Olney U7s entertained Northampton BBOB and Kettering, beating BBOB in the first game 4-1 with tries from Rhys Evans (2), Nathan Allen and Luke Becker.

They then beat Kettering 5-3 with the scores from Allen (2), Joshua Lyon, Evans and Oliver Shoreland and there then followed a 9-3 win over Kettering with the tries from Evans (2), Lyon, Allen, Shoreland, Joshua Kleczkowski, Huw Turner, Harvey Johnson and Joshua Wheeler.

The fourth game resulted in a 7-4 win over BBOB, the tries here from Xander Hughes (3), Wheeler (3) and Harvey Johnson.

The fifth and final game resulted in a 6-6 draw, tries from Kleczkowski (2), Hughes, Turner, Johnson and Oliver Keeling Smith.

>> Olney's U7s were in action in the Buckingham Tournament on Sunday and ended up as champions.

The first game saw them beat Ampthill 7-1 with scores from Harry Thomas (2), Joe Brock (2), Thomas Brooks, Oli Betteridge and Danny Trott and they then beat Bedford 6-2 with tries from Brooks (2), Thomas (2), Albert Lindley and Trott.

A 4-2 win over Brackley followed, the tries from Brooks (3) and Brock and they then downed Buckingham 4-0 with tries from Brock, Lindley, Jack Jordan and Trott.

The final resulted in a 4-2 win over Old Northamptonains, the tries from Brooks (2), Brock, and Thomas.

>> Olney U8s were busy in action and Thunder faced BBOB in their first game, drawing 3-3 with the tries from Struan Brooks, George Adams-Stockwin and Archie Forber.

They then beat Kettering 4-3 with the scores from James Thomason (2), Ryan Jones and Adams-Stockwin before they lost out 5-2 to Kettering, the tries from Brooks and Jones.

Storm were 4-3 winners over Kettering with the scores from Lawrence Cook (2) and Ben while Cook and Josh (2) scored in the 3-3 draw with Kettering. They then lost out 5-3 to BBOB with Cook and Freddie Humphreys the scorers.

Lightning gained a 5-54 draw with Kettering in their first match, tries coming from Ben Brear (2), Georgia Brock and Alex Demontes (2).

They then beat BBOB with Zack Parkinson, Demontes, Jacob Demain and Ben Brear scoring the tries and this was followed by a 9-4 win over Kettering, the tries here from Brear, Parkinson (3), Demain, Brock and Oli Meageary.

>> Olney U10s faced Kettering, winning 2-0 with tries from Sebastian Combes and Harry Warn.

They then beat Stewart and Lloyds 5-0 with the scores from Combes (2), Adam Grandy, Eliot Simpson and Warn. A 5-2 defeat against Kettering followed with the tries from Tom Lay and Jamie Mitchell and they then beat S&L 2-1 with both tries from Lay.

>> Olney's U14s Our U14s entertained Bedford and a touring side, Chester,on Sunday.

They beat Bedford 33-5 with the tries from Stuart Livesey (2), Andrew Lane, George Adams, Charlie Esam and two conversions from Livesey but lost out 14-0 to Chester.

A signed Olney shirt and the Pancake Trophy were awarded to Chester by Frank Livesey, the side's head coach Chester expressed their thanks to ORFC for their hospitality and invited Olney to visit their ground next season.
