Stony Stratford Town were edged to an eight-run defeat in a high scoring affair against the Northants County Cricket Club Academy side on Saturday.
Stony saw the Northants side total a massive 342-1 in the Northants League Premier Division match with opener David Murphy hammering 189 not out with fellow starter Ben Howgego out for 97, the duo putting on an opening partnership of 275.

But the runs flowed for Stony too and they were finally dismissed just nine runs short of victory with skipper Dion Ebrahim blasting a superb 125 with a half century from Doug Aris.
