Young striker puts pen to paper on a deal until 2010
MK Dons have confirmed Sam Baldock has signed a contract extension that keeps him at stadiummk until June 2010.
The 19-year-old striker put pen-to-paper on the new deal yesterday, which also contains an option for a further season.
Sam has made an outstanding start to the new campaign, seizing the chance given to him by manager Roberto Di Matteo with six starts and two goals.
Baldock said: "I'm delighted to have extended my contract with the Club, I've been here since I was 14-years-old and hope I can be here for many years to come.
"We've got some highly-experienced players and staff that I have been lucky enough to work with and, with their help, I want to keep improving as a player.
"I've been given a great opportunity by the manager this season, it's important that I build on that and continue to compete for a first team place."
Di Matteo said: "Sam is an exciting young player with a bright future. We've taken steps to secure his future because we believe and have trust in his ability.
"We can't expect him to be the finished article yet but he has done very well with the chance he has been given.
"Sam's got a great attitude, he wants to learn and if he keeps developing he'll be a very important player for this Club."
