JAMIE McGauley has been selected to represent his country at eight-ball pool.
The 16-year-old from Bletchley had been on the fringes of a place in England's under 18 side for some three years, but had always just missed out in trials.

But having spent the last few months practising up to two hours a day, Jamie received a letter informing him of an opening in the England under 21 trials, an offer he gladly accepted.

And against the odds Jamie put in a spectacular performance to clinch the victory and seal his place in England's under 21 side.

At 16 Jamie becomes the youngest ever player to represent England at under 21 level, with older brother Mark holding the previous record when he was picked at the age of 17.
