Ian receives 'cyclist of the year' award

Stannard gets major recognition
Castlethorpe professional cyclist Ian Stannard was guest of honour at the North Bucks Road Club's 56th annual dinner and prize-giving at Wavendon Golf Club.

And after presenting the prizes for the 2008 competitions to club members, Ian was presented with the Andy Hardy Trophy as Milton Keynes Cyclist of the Year.

Ian was a member of Team GB in the Tour of Britain which visited Milton Keynes and in which he finished a magnificent third overall.

He also represented his country in the World Championship Road Race in Italy.

Principle prize winners this year were Tony Parks and Rob Saunders, who shared no less than 15 awards between them, and Tim Carter.

Gilbert Wheelwright won the Veterans' League Trophy and Steve Abraham won the 24-Hour Trophy with 382.18 miles.
