Swans in first qualifying round
Saturday's 1-0 home win over Cirencester has put Newport Pagnell Town through to the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Vinnie Shrieves scored the decisive goal after just five minutes and the Swans now entertain BGB Southern League
Division One Midlands Marlow at Willen Road on Saturday, September 13.
Newport, who had never previously won an FA Cup tie, saw off Wessex League Premier Division VT FC in Southampton 2-0 in the extra preliminary round before their impressive win over Cirencester in the preliminary round.
Newport manager Terry Shrieves was at Marlow's Alfred Davis ground on Tuesday to watch Marlow see off Wessex League Division One Ringwood 4-0 in the replay, the sides having drawn 2-2 on Saturday.
Shrieves said: "They look beatable to me. They didn't appear to be a better team than Cirencester so we must be in with a fair chance."
Victory against Marlow will earn Newport another £3,000 to boost the club's coffers.
Before that Newport face an FA Vase first qualifying round tie on Saturday at home to Totton and Eling, who top the Wessex League Division One table.
Newport are then due to be back in midweek league action when they travel to St Ives in the United Counties League Premier Division.
