Champions to defend their title
Defending champions North Crawley are in the 2008 final of the Citizen-backed Wolverton KO Cup after a convincing eight-wicket win over Wolverton 2nds on Monday.

The first of the two semi-finals held at Wolverton's Osborne Street ground saw Wolves post 112-7 off their 15 eight-ball overs with 32 from Kabir Arif, 21 from Ashley Dawson and another 19 from Sean Potter.

For North Crawley Richard Bryce kept things tight with an impressive 3-19 off his four overs.

But the total was not testing enough with North Crawley booking their passage through to the final with their reply of 113-2 from 13.6 overs.

Bryce added to his bowling performance with an impressive 41 not out and shared in an unbroken stand of 88 for the third wicket with Matt Goss, who cracked a fine 42 not out.

For Wolves the most successful of the bowlers was Potter who claimed 2-24.

The second semi-final is due to be played on Monday at Wolves' Osborne Street ground with a 6pm start, New Bradwell taking on either New City or MK City.

The final is again set for Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, at Osborne Street.

The final will be decided over two innings each of 15 eight-ball overs with the team that loses the toss at the start of the game being given the choice of batting or bowling first in the second innings with no bowler permitted to bowl more than four overs during each innings.
