MARK Wright scored his first goals for MK Dons as they came from behind to knock Peterborough out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old winger's clinical finishes plus Colin Cameron's late strike cancelled out Aaron McLean's early opener and sealed the in-form Dons' seventh straight win.
McLean put Posh ahead in the 16th minute when he played a neat one-two with Rene Howe on the edge of the box and drilled his seventh goal of the season low past Dons goalkeeper Willy Gueret from 15 yards.
The unmarked Wright equalised for Milton Keynes nine minutes later when he confidently stroked Jemal Johnson's unselfish low cross into the corner from 10 yards.
Johnson should have put the Dons ahead three minutes before the break but he sliced the impressive Bally Smart's super reverse pass badly wide from seven yards.
But the Dons weren't to be denied and Wright deservedly put them 2-1 up seven minutes after the break, just moments after Howe had planted a 10-yard free-header wide for Posh.
Wright raced onto Jude Stirling's defence-splitting pass and coolly side-stepped Peterborough goalkeeper Shwan Jalal before firing in from an acute angle.
Posh battled back and Howe was denied by a brave sprawling save from Gueret after skinning Danny Swailes inside the box, before Kieran Charnock cleared MK substitute Gareth Edds' strike off the line at the other end in the 62nd minute.
Johnson missed another sitter as the Dons regained the initiative, chipping straight at Jalal after Smart's clever flick had put him clean through in the 73rd minute.
But Cameron sealed a comfortable passage into the third round for the Dons five minutes from the end when he slotted home substitute Scott Taylor's cross from close range.
