Academy pick up Sport Award for hours of help in schools

Milton Keynes Leadership Academy were named Project of the Year at the Bucks & MK Sport Awards last week,

Almost 300 people gathered at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre for the ninth annual Bucks & MK Sport Awards after a record number of nominations.

The event, hosted by Paralympic gold medal rower Naomi Riches MBE and former England hockey player Roger Dakin, paid homage to unsung individuals and organisations from all across the area.

MK Leadership Academy nurtures enthusiastic leaders in sport and activity with qualifications and opportunities to lead.

The aim of the academy is to combine the power of sport with the personal and social development of learning to effectively lead.

Roger Fennemore, Chairman of Leap said: “This is the Bucks sporting version of the Oscars, with the message being to recognise the people behind the people in sport – all the volunteers who make sport happen.”
