ARABIAN Gymnastics Club held the first of their two club championships at Bletchley Leisure Centre on Sunday, with almost 200 youngsters taking part in five different rounds of activities.
Thirty volunteers made the event run smoothly, and an audience in excess of 400 watched the action from 9am through to 6pm.
Children all left with a participation certificate and large tube of chocolates, along with their medals of course, after raising more than £775 for the club on the day thanks to supportive parents and relatives, with the money going towards improving equipment.
The gymnasts showed off some amazing skills, considering they only participate once a week, with balance beam displays, bar work, tumbles on the floor, and trampette acrobatics.
Donna Armitage organised the day’s competition and said: “We were slightly worried how we would get everyone into the hall, but all the parents and visitors were really appreciative that we held the event at the children’s own facility.
“It was standing room only at times but the atmosphere of the event was magical for the children taking part.
“I’d like to thank all the coaches and volunteers who gave up their time freely for the charity. It was an amazing day.”
