Five Milton Keynes AC members contested the British Universities Indoor Championships in Sheffield, but only Chad Lambert (pictured) had a top 10 finish, coming 9th in the 1500m final in a time of 4m 04.76s.
There was, however, a personal best in the shot as Devon Byrne qualified for the final with a putt of 10.97m, but he was unable to repeat that effort and finished 12th with 10.67m.
It was one place better for Chuko Cribb in the triple jump. Having qualified 4th with 13.89m, he took 11th spot in the final, clearing just one centimetre less.
Not making it through to finals were Subomi Onanuga with 7.23s in the men’s 60m heats, Hannah Bushell 28.10s in the 200m and Devon with 4.95m in the long jump.
Not so far away in Birmingham, at the England Athletics U15/U17/U20 Championships, there were more PBs, as Dorothy Oduguwa lowered her 60m best to 8.02s. But she slowed slightly in the final to finish 6th in 8.08s and in the same event Elysia Marriott lowered her best to 8.17s.
In the F17 pole vault, Emanuela Motta improved her best to 2.90m for 12th place. U15 Ebony Carr dropped her best to 25.70s in the 200m heat but failed to make the final with a 3rd placed 26.06s semi, and there was a similar story in the 60m as Ebony qualified for the semi in 8.16s, but despite improving to 8.02, did not progress.
Also not going through were F20 Alice Ritchie who ran 8.19s for the 60m and F17 Amy Botham finished her 800m in 2m 24.43s.
There was a good turnout at the Winslow 10k with several PBs, including 8th placed Jeremy Vick who crossed the line in 36m 45s, plus 19th Adrian Maidment in 38m 37s and Alex Knowles who was 35th and 1st F45 in 40m 04s.
Two more PBs came for 37th Chris Youens 40m 28s and 58th Michael Greener (M17) 42m 09s, with category wins for 63rd Diane Baldwin (1st F55) 42m 34s and 65th Kelvin Smith (1st M60) 43m 09s.
In 67th was Terry Down (M55) 43m 49s, 68th John Greener (M17) with a PB of 43m 54s, 71st Chris Worton (M45) 44m 05s and 126th Johann Vick (F35) with jet another PB 47m 50s.
At the Wrap-up-and-Run 10km in Milton Keynes, Martin Erasmus (M45) grabbed 4th spot in 38m 40s, with 9th Ed Dunn a minute and one second further back and 57th Sophie Wilkins in 48m 13s.
Finishing in exactly 97 minutes, Terry Down (M55) crossed the line in 2709th place at the Barcelona Half Marathon.
