As the road running fraternity of Milton Keynes Athletic Club continue their build-up to next month’s London Marathon, there were good results at a chilly Silverstone Half.
Leading the small group home was Jeremy Vick (pictured) who finished 31st in 80m 54s, with Ian Pheasey taking 94m 57s and Malcolm Kidby 2h 09m 48s.
Unusually the city club had only one entry in the popular Wymondham 20 mile race as Geoff New (M45) finished 82nd in 2h 32m 19s.
Braving the cold at the Loughborough Throws Meet, Freddie Curtis (M20) opened his season with a 65.05m throw in the Javelin.
There will of course be a much larger turn out at the weekend’s Milton Keynes Half Marathon, and although it is now too late to enter online, you can still enter on the day.
However, if 13 miles is a bit more than you care for, there is always the 5k or 10 races, or maybe just join in the fun and give the runners some very welcome support.
