TWO ladies from Bletchley St Martins Bowls Club were part of the trio who won the Bucks Benevolent Triples competition, the final stages of which were played at Stony Stratford.
Sue Dimmock and Carol Higton were joined by Pauline Swaithes from Bletchley Town, and were fortunate to get a bye in the quarter final due to Iver Heath withdrawing from the competition.
The Bucks trio defeated Wexham 13-9 in the semi-final and then saw off a very strong team from Princes Risborough 17-9 in the final, making Sue and Carol the first players from St Martins to ever pick up the trophy.
And the success continued for St Martins when the men beat Burnham by three shots at Princes Risborough to book their place in the Bucks Plate final after winning their division to return to the Bucks Cup at the first attempt.
