Two Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club records were broken at the British Miler’s Club meeting at Oxford.

Chad Lambert lowered the mile record to 4m 09.95s and Archie Rippin set a new M17 target of 4m 40.03s.

Lambert battled it out all the way to the line for his 2nd place, just five hundredths of a second back from winner Harry Harper from Liverpool.

Also competing at the same meeting were Owen Seamark (M17) 4m 43.64s and Sophie Botham (F15) 5m 27.20s.

Meanwhile, continuing her return to fitness, Joey Duck set a couple of strong times at the Birmingham Games as she finished 2nd in the 100m in a time of 11.97s, which was just off her season’s best, and 3rd in the 200m with a time of 24.05s in near perfect cionditions.

And there was great news for the club with Devon Byrne selected to represent England in an Under 23 International Heptathlon early next month.

Jonathan Pownall (javelin), Daniel Oderinde (100m and 4x100m) and Naomi Greener (long jump) have been selected to represent the South West at the UK School Games.
