Opting to do an over-nighter on Tear Drops when the nearby National Bowl is hosting a major concert is always likely to lead to an ‘interesting’ experience.

That’s what Richard Purnell did during the recent Foo Fighters’ gig and – despite, as he describes it: “So many drunk, happy people walking past singing and chatting loudly, and the sound-checks at the Bowl being really loud, I didn’t think there was much chance.

“But with the Bowl bouncing, the carp were still biting and good times were had by all.”

And the ‘good times’ were certainly that for Richard, as he landed a 17-8 mirror and a 15-2 common.
