MK DONS players will help celebrate the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust’s summer play programme with a series of appearances across the city next week.
The likes of Gary MacKenzie, Stephen Gleeson and Shaun Williams will be visiting estates across Milton Keynes to meet youngsters who have taken part in the programme, which is delivered by the SET for Milton Keynes Council.
The play scheme is free for young people, ideally aged between eight and 13 years, and also includes a number of sporting activities such as football, cricket, rounders, golf, tennis, badminton and field athletics.
Games available also include Giant Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, Draughts and Jenga, as well as a wide range of arts and crafts activities.
The MK Dons on Tour Bus will be at some of the venues complete with on board computers, Watt Bikes, Interactive TV as well as a number of other attractions such as street dance, break dance, DJ and MC workshops and special appearances by Dons mascot Mooie. The venues are as follows:
Monday, August 20 at Newport Pagnell Youth Club from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Followed by Olney Recreation Ground from 2pm to 5pm
Tuesday, August 21 at Lakes Estate Community Centre from 9.30am to 12.30pm followed by Derwent Drive Youth Club from 2pm to 5pm
Wednesday, August 22 at Walnut Tree Playing Field from 9.30am to 12.30pm followed by Beanhill Playing Field from 2pm to 5pm
Thursday, August 23 at Langland School Field Netherfield from 9.30am to 12.30pm followed by Jonathans Games Area Coffee Hall from 2pm to 5pm
Friday, August 24 at Pirate Ship Playground Fishermead from 9.30am to 12.30am followed by Crownhill Playing Field from 2pm to 5pm
