Good korfball show from Bucks in Oxford

MK Bucks picked up an impressive second place finish in the Oxford University Korfball tournament, losing out to national level side Bearsted in the final.

A strong Bucks side, supplemented by a number of MK City players, picked up two wins and a draw in the four match group stage, claiming an impressive 5-2 victory over the hosting Oxford University side on the way.

This put Bucks into the final against Bearsted, recently relegated from the top level England Korfball League, and despite a strong defensive effort against a much stronger team on paper, a rash of Bearsted goals during the middle of the game condemned Bucks to a 9-3 defeat.

Paul Windsor was Bucks’ top scorer with six goals over the course of the day, with Suzanne Chambers the highest female scorer.
