Three teams representing Milton Keynes finished in the top 10 positions in the city’s annual outdoor korfball event known as ‘Korfstock’.

Held in blisteringly hot conditions at Milton Keynes Rugby Club, the tournament was contested by 21 teams from around the country, with the ‘Selly Oak Lumberjacks’ winning the final by beating fellow West Midlands team Birmingham City to pick up their first Korfstock title.

The MK Roos were the top home team on the day as they claimed the notable scalp of Norwich Ice in the group stage to reach the last eight before eventually finishing seventh.

MK Bucks and a combined team of Walton Rogues and MK Colossus ended up facing each other in the plate final for ninth place, with the latter winning on penalties after a hard-fought 3-3 draw.

Rogues/Colossus will now be hoping to take that winning form into this week’s Milton Keynes Summer League final against the Roos.
