MK swimmers make a splash in Peterborough

A large group of young swimmers from City of Milton Keynes Swim Club attended the final round of the COPS mini meet Grand Prix in Peterborough on Saturday.

The meet consisted of four consecutive rounds where the swimmers gain points per event. The points are all calculated and final results were given in the last round.

Helen Odams achieved a first place finish for CMKSC with a personal best time of 2:24.23, which was four seconds quicker than her entry time.

Second places were achieved by: Mathew Sturgess (100 IM, 50 free, 50 free), Christian Bywater (50 free, 50 breast, 200 IM) Brayden Ditchfield-Watkins (50 breast) and Sydney Wood (200 free).

Third places were achieved by: Brayden Ditchfield-Watkins (100 IM, 50 free) Marcus McAuliffe (50 free, 200 IM) Sydney Wood (50 fly, 50 back).

The top overall girls who received top awards in their age groups were: Helen Odams (2nd place), Chloe Osili (6th), Charlotte Folkes (4th), Charlotte Ratcliffe (5th) and Edith Patey (6th).

The top overall boys were: Christian Bywater (2nd place), Michael Pentland (3rd), Mathew Sturgess (2nd), Adam Pentland (3rd), and Brayden Ditchfield-Watkins (4th).

To top those excellent swims, CMKSC won top supportive club overall for the third year running.

The club and swimmers were ecstatic with their results as a number of the swimmers were new to competing, and they are all now looking forward to their next meet.
