Orbit sent a squad of 18 young jumpers to Southampton to try and step up a grade at the Southern Region Trampoline competition.

At grade G U13 girls, Jayde Latimer and Ella Jefferson were both a little competition rusty, but in a large group of 34 they acquitted themselves well to come in 12th and 18th places respectively.

At O15, Kathryn Marsh was involved in another big group of 32, but came home in 12th place, as U11 Millie Heathcoat was 6th.

Moving up to grade F U13 girls, Amy Smith was 12th and Daniella Toomey 13th against 27 other girls, while at 015s, Katy Smith finished 9th, Lucy Pangbourne 12th and Emily Muttitt 14th, all in their first try at this level.

Amy Hewitson was 4th and qualified up to grade E, and the combined scores gave the girls 2nd team place.

In the boys grade F, Charlie Roberts was 2nd in the U15s at only nine years of age, and Ritchie Clarke was 3rd in the older event, also qualifying up to E grade.

In the U13s E grade, Anya Butler suffered an unlucky landing, losing her valuable marks and giving her 10th place, while in the U15s, the club had a similar fate, with Lauren McEvaddy 13th and Lauren Muttitt 14th.

Helena Bloomfield missed out on a medal by finishing in 4th place in the O15s – her best result for some time.

And the highest group of the day saw Martha McKinnell secure 1st place in U19s grade D group as she qualified up to national C.
