Bream ruled – again – in Saturday’s Lodge Lake individual league round...but that didn’t stop Ernie Sattler and Paul Abbott putting together cracking roach nets!

Phil Bardell and Mick Sutton shared a slab shoal for 37-10 and 32-13, but Sattler and Abbott gave class displays to rack-up, respectively, 20-5 and 17-8 of hemp redfins.

With the next round on Tear Drops, August 13 (01234 713144), Bardell leads (23 points) with Neil Richardson on 20 and Sattler 16.

ANOTHER man bagging on small fish was Kevin Osborne, winning Newport’s Ouse match with 19-8 – of DACE – on double bronze and whip. Steve Davies had 14-10 and Dave ‘blast from the past’ Adams 13-12. Half a dozen mini-barbel where also caught, which has to be good.

INVITED to try the Willen ‘new pegs’ by pal Gary Maton – who’d already blanked there twice – Kevin Briggs promptly landed a 41-8 common...while Gary notched a third blank.

REDUCTION of canal zander – a predatory alien species – numbers continues and a Stoke Bruerne to Cosgrove electro-fishing session saw 90-odd caught, between 1lb and 4lb, with an eight-pounder netted from a marina.

ROCLA Lake saw Ben Hough – reporting through Water’s Edge Tackle (was Great Linford Tackle) – land a 20lb carp. Good fish into the 20s have been had at Furzton recently with Bradwell Lake producing a run of tench to 8lb and bream to 9lb. And carper Ade Watson has been getting some big doubles from Newport’s pits.

A CHARITY match on Furzton for the Haemochomatosis Society helped raise £445 and the profile of the society. Organiser Paul Chapman can’t thank the various sponsors and raffle prize donors enough. Terry Davis won with 42-5 as Ian Smith had 31-4-8 and Terry Lancaster 27-11

MKAA summer league second round, Mill Road cut: Richard King (Tackle Hub Platinum) top with 17-14. Rob Dysiak (‘Hub Silver) had 9-14 and Paul Chapman (‘Hub Gold) 9-12.

‘Hub Silver lead on 16 points with Royal Oak top of a chasing pack of five teams spanned by just three points.

KINGFISHER, Tear Drops: Mircea Peredercu 24-3, Neil Richardson 12-11, John White 10-1.

DATS evening series, Beachampton: Paul Chapman 17-6-8, John Hewison 13-11, Steve Wroe 11-8-8.
