OLYMPIC champion Greg Rutherford has been tweeting from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery on an ankle problem this week.
The procedure has been described as “nothing serious” and the long jump star is expected to make a quick recovery.
The 25-year-old has been in good spirits, even complementing the qualify of his hospital food.
He tweeted over the last 24 hours: “I haven’t said anything about it but I’m in for surgery today, having a couple of things sorted. Really not looking forward to it...
“Morning all. I’m laying in my hospital bed slightly sore, awaiting breakfast! How’s everyone getting on?
“Another wonderful meal here in hospital. A salad with a delightful chicken breast! They also gave me some choc ice cream! Nom nom.”
