OLYMPIAN Greg Rutherford visited The Nutri Centre store in Kingston on Saturday to offer health and fitness advice to the public.

The British long-jumper from Bletchley was on hand to share his words of wisdom and diet secrets with customers, just six weeks before the opening ceremony of London 2012.

The Nutri Centre store manager, Lori-Anne Desmond, said: “Greg is a regular customer of ours. He’s a Milton Keynes resident, representing Team GB, so what better way to get people interested in good nutrition and exercise?

“Greg treats his body like a high-performance machine. To get the best results he follows a strictly regimented diet and takes high quality supplements to boost his performance and aid recovery.

“He’s been a customer here before we knew he was a competitive athlete, so it wasn’t a far stretch to ask him to come in for an afternoon to talk to the general public and especially the local kids.”

“We planned our in-store event around kids so that they could approach Greg and ask questions on how to ‘go for the gold’.

“Several budding athletes turned up and Greg was fabulous. He signed autographs, posed for pictures, and took time with each and every person, answering questions and giving pointers.”
