THE MK Knights maintained their bid for a Midlands Development League Grand Final place with 20-14 ‘home’ win against Stoke Spitfires on Monday night.

The victory at Rye House lifted the city side to second place in the table, just one point behind defending champions Long Eaton Invaders with three matches still in hand. Knights have now won five out of their seven league meetings this season.

Next week sees the Knights start a run of three outings in just eight days, starting with a trip to Belle Vue Colts, Manchester on August 20 before battling Scunthorpe Stags in a rearranged fixture at Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium and then travelling to Coventry to take on last season’s MDL runners-up, Mercia Vikings.
