MK City Korfball club made a battling start to the summer season of outdoor action at the Leicester City Tournament.
An experimental squad travelled north from MK for the one-day competition, with six experienced players joined by three outdoor debutants.
Against opposition from as far afield as Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester, MK won two and drew one of the eight games they contested, but all five defeats came by just a single goal.
Joanne Bamforth was MK’s top scorer with four goals over the course of the day, with the Nottingham Outlawz going on to win the tournament for the fifth year in succession.
And to prepare for a busy schedule of tournaments this summer, MK City are staging outdoor training sessions on Wednesday nights from 7pm at MK Rugby Club pitches at Emerson Valley, for male and female players of all abilities.
New players get their first two sessions free and for more information long on to www.korfballinmk.co.uk
