MMKAC were well represented in the annual Squeaky Bone Cross-Country Relay organised by Olney Runners.

The team took both first and second places in the under 18 men’s race, where each runner completed a lap of 2.3 miles. Their “A” team not only won but smashed the course record by some 9-minutes. The foursome of Robert Hickman (14.09), Montana Edghill (14.47), Leo Freeland (13.28) and Galen Butler (13.27) closed in with a time of 55.51.

Galen Butler overall was the fastest male on the day with his time of 13.27, just one second quicker than team-mate, Leo Freeland (13.28). For good measure Montana Edghill with her time of 14.47 was the fastest female overall.

There was a record 124 teams in the senior 4 x 3.5miles race. Many of the teams are ad hoc, with the winning team “Quads of Fury” comprising three MMKAC and one Northampton athlete. The latter, Josh Lay, ran 19.06 to give them a lead after leg one.

Ewan Forsythe (pictured) then ran 20.15, James Minter (20.36) and Oli Carrington (20.22), on the day the 5th, 9th and 7th fastest respectively on the day.

Dan Webber ran 21.11 on leg 1 for “Milton Buzzards” who finished 9th overall (96.28) whilst Mark Palser clocked 20.37 (10th fastest on the day) on leg 1 for “Two Brothers and their Hoes”, 13th overall in 99.44 and the 7th mixed team.
