While the rest of Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club hang up their spikes for the winter the “throwers” never appear to accept this natural change and so in Hull at the Hammer Circle Reunion the Club’s women were out in force.

The best result of the weekend came in the Hammer 5 competition with 2nd for Kayleigh Presswell (F20) throwing 50.58m and 5th Lauren Presswell (F17) 46.75m there was also a 3rd place in the Hammer 2 by Lauren with a throw of 46.98m.

Additionally there were personal best throws in the Weight competition by 9th placed Lauren with 12.99m using the 16lb weight and for 10th Laeken Impey (F20) 12.09m with the 20lb weight.

Elsewhere in the Hammer 2, Paige Barnes (F17) 44.61m was 6th, Emma Beardmore 44.20m 8th and Laeken 42.26m was 10th, in Hammer 3, it was 5th for Kayleigh Percale (F20) 49.37m and Hammer 5, 11th Laeken 41.94m,12th Paige 41.12m and 15th Emma 37.98m.

Finally in the Weight competition there was a 7th for Emma 13.70m (20lb), 8th Kayleigh 13.08m (20lb) and 11th Paige 11.58m (16lb),

Competing at the Buckingham 10k road race, Lido Medori (M50) finished 9th in 40m 01s while just behind in12th was Tom Hayman 40m 55s, chased by 14th Keith Brown (M45) 42m 08s with 27th Robby Taylor 44m 53s, 30th John Greener (M45) 45m 32 and 61st Jade Brown (1st F17) 49m 27s.

At the Luton Half Marathon Keith Brown (M45) was 48th in 91m 32s with 74th Les Turton (M50) 96m 40s.

Two more members completed the multi-terrain Candleford Women’s 10k with Diane Baldwin (1st F55) finishing 7th in 45m 14s and Sarah Cox (F35) three places behind taking 45m 50s. There was also some cross country action in the London Colleges League with Liam Smith finishing 15th with a time of 28m 17s.
