This the final major club cross-country of the year attracting competitors from as far wide as Cornwall, The Borders, East Anglia and the south coast. The course was a good test for the runners with a combination of some undulating grassland running and a couple of really tricky muddy sections .

In the ladies 8km race Lara placed a really fine 43rd place from a field of almost 800 and is the third best individual position by a senior local female runner at these major championships and improving from her 49th in 2015. Mel Wright finished 411th (A “National” best) with Debra Brent 482nd. Earlier Barbara De Koning stormed to 45th place in the u15girls race over 4km with the largest field in this age group(426) for some years. Aidan Murphy led the under 13 boys home in their 3km race, a very respectful 175th followed by Harry Rose(227th) and Ben Green(312).

Some 1800 runners started the senior men’s race over 12km. Steve Tuttle led 12 local runners, 209th closely followed by James Seddon(248th) and Graham Jones(262nd).
