Back-to-back games prove too much for Lakers in Norwich

It was another busy weekend for the teams at MK Korfball.

MK Lakers 1 were given just a 10 minute break between games as they took on Norwich Ice and then Norwich Knights.

After a narrow match with Ice saw Lakers holding steady as 12-12, a late surge from the home side saw them snatch victory 18-13.

There was no time to dwell on the result though as Knights took to the court for the second game.

With the first game clearly taking its toll, Lakers were handed their biggest defeat of the season, going down 23-8.

The Lakers Academy are flying at the moment though, as they hit top spot in the MK Schools League, following their 4-0 win over Drayton Parslow, and then a 6-0 victory against Newton Longville.

The U11s and the U16s will head to Harrow for the high quality Junior Inter Area tournament this weekend. The tournament showcases the best talent from each korfballing area in England and will involve a lot of games in quick succession.
